For the first time, St Louis is the starting circuit of the Tour of Missouri 2009 Pro Cycling Race. The race starts at 2:30pm at Market and 7th St and will make a big loop through downtown, Soulard, and Lafayette Square. Many of the teams competing have also ridden in the Tour de France, so this promises to be an exciting race!
The Tour of Missouri is patterned after the famous Tour de France and features point to point racing, as more than 120 world-class cyclists from elite professional teams traverse through the Show Me State, September 7-13. The event starts in St. Louis and finishes in Kansas City. The St. Louis leg is a 10-lap, 75-mile circuit race that will be fast and flat.
