St Louis Symphony Forest Park Concert--Sept 17

The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra will kick off the Balloon Glow and Race weekend with a concert held Thursday evening in Forest Park. The concert will be on Art Hill but like many of the outdoor concerts in St Louis you will be able to hear the music from a good distance away.

The concert is starting at 7pm and will feature Ward Stare conducting many favorite symphonic pieces. The full lineup is as follows:

COPLAND: Fanfare for the Common Man

COPLAND: Hoe-Down, from Rodeo

BEETHOVEN: Overture to Egmont

PROKOFIEV: from Romeo and Juliet, 1. The Montagues and the Capulets

TCHAIKOVSKY: from Nutcracker, III. Valse des fleurs.

RODGERS / R.R. Bennett: "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific

ANDERSON: Bugler's Holiday

ROSSINI: Overture to Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville)

WAGNER / arr. Hutschenruyter: Ride of the Valkyries, from Die Walküre

MANCINI / arr. Hayman: "Moon River" from Breakfast at Tiffany's
