Whitaker Music Festival--July 1
Birds singing in the warm, rose-scented evenings signal it’s time for the Whitaker Music Festival. Now in its 15th year, the open-air festival presents ten weeks of free Wednesday evening concerts under the stars. Enjoy the musical talents of many noted St. Louis-area performers and take advantage of the once-a-year opportunity to picnic on the Garden grounds. Click here to view this year's lineup.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic supper, baskets, or coolers. Picnic fare is also available for purchase on site, including brisket sandwiches, hot dogs, cheese and grape plates, sno-cones, chips, cookies, beer, wine, and soda. The Doris I. Regal Free Family Film Festival--June 30 and July 1
Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theatre capacity. The Free Family Film Festival is safe, lots of fun and a great way for kids to spend a weekday morning in the summer.

You can come and go as you please. The concerts are held in the outdoor Market in the Loop Plaza, next to Racanelli's and across the street from St Louis Bread Co.
Bring a lawn chair, available seating is limited. And bring your children!

Family Sunday at the St Louis Art Museum--June 28
Come check out St Louis Art Museum's free Family Sunday with an exploration of texture!
Touchy Texture
Sculpture Hall
1:00–4:00 pm
Rough and smooth, bumpy and scratchy—there's texture aplenty in and around the Museum. This month, go on a tour of the galleries to "feel" texture with your eyes instead of your hands. Then, make your own texture collage or textural tiles to take home with you.

What does bumpy sound like? How about scratchy? Smooth? St. Louis sound artist and Family Programs favorite Eric Hall visits the Museum for hands-on and ears-on experiments in hearing what your fingers feel.

Music+Movies at Laumeier Park--June 26
Music+Movies features a local band followed by an outdoor movie on four Fridays in June. The series is free, and picnic baskets and lawn chairs are encouraged. Concessions and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Coolers permitted, no glass please. No pets allowed for special events. In case of inclement weather, Music+Movies will be held the following night.
June 26 will feature Bored of Education at 7pm followed by The Sandlot at 8:30pm.

The Saint Louis Art Museum hosts Art After 5 on Friday evenings at 7pm. These free concerts are held on Art Hill Plaza (weather permitting).
This Friday, June 26, features Swing Deville. Blending stringed instruments and a myriad of musical styles, this ensemble creates a unique musical sound that is just right for a relaxing summer evening. Swing DeVille's musical inspiration comes from early western swing as well as big band, gypsy jazz, New Orleans jazz, and pop music of the 1920s, '30, and '40s. The musicians of Swing DeVille play rare vintage acoustic instruments that include the violin, mandolin, guitar, and bass.
